Echoes of the Red Chamber「紅樓回響」is a monumental 48-meter-long digital artwork brought to life through a full-length animation. Installed permanently inside JLC (JinLing Central) — a flagship commercial development by Hongkong Land and one of the most iconic luxury malls in Nanjing, China — the artwork plays across a massive curved LED screen, enveloping viewers in an immersive visual experience. Located along the connecting corridor between the metro station and the mall, it welcomes thousands of passers-by each day with a rich, ever-evolving visual story that bridges tradition and modernity.

Inspired by the classic Chinese novel Dream of the Red Chamber 「紅樓夢」, this panoramic piece blends traditional aesthetics with modern-day culture. Sneakers, social media, pop icons, memes, and video game characters appear in a setting filled with classical Chinese architecture, costumes, and symbolism — creating a layered world where past and present collide.

At its heart, the project explores how universal themes — love, ambition, identity, and loss — echo across generations. These timeless emotions form the narrative backbone of the artwork, encouraging viewers to reflect, discover, and connect.

Echoes of the Red Chamber is both a tribute to Chinese literary heritage and a playful mirror of today’s world. Presented as a continuous animation across 48 meters of digital canvas, it invites audiences to look closer — and find their own echoes within.
